Ideal Families

I chose to write about what the image of an ideal family is. To me what an ideal family is is a family where your parents aren’t divorced and everyone gets along. To this day i don’t know of any family that doesn’t have some kind of conflicts within it, but i believe the key to having an ideal family is to just respect everyone and accept their differences.

Some advantages to having an ideal family is less stress, and more hapiness. Some disadvantages are that other people don’t expect you and your family to ever have any kind of problem or to argue with each other which happens in every family on occasion. Another disadvantage for people who have “ideal families” is often times they are viewes as spoiled which isn’t always true.

However even if your parents are divorced or you get in a lot of arguements with members of your family it doesn’t mean you don’t have a great family :)

Heroes

What is the true definition of a hero? Someone who saves other peoples lives? Or every day ordinary people.

I believe that to be a hero you don’t necassarily have to save someones life or do something fantastically brave.  I believe that a true hero is someone who sacrifices what they want and consistently puts someone else’s needs before themselves.

Mothers are a good example, they clean up the most disgusting messes ever created, and are always putting their children’s needs in front of their own. When people hear the word hero they usually think of parents or someone who has done something brave, but thats not always the case. People who stand up against racism or any other type of prejudice i view as a hero as well.

Giraffe

I would much rather see a giraffe in the wild instead of the zoo because in the zoo the animals are tame and used to a daily routine, but in the wild they would behave how their instincts tell them to.

Color

The color yellow is one of the shades of spring. It’s said to make you feel happy and cheerful just like you do when the weather changes from cold and dreary to warm and sunny. Yellow is in the many colors of the flowers that bloom in spring as well.

Earth Day

This Earth Day I plan on paying attention to my energy usage and waste. I’m usually not that conscious of that kind of stuff except littering and reusing plastic bottles but thats about it, but on Earth Day I’m going to really be conscious about reusing and saving. I believe its important to keep this earth healthy because its the only one we have. I have certain habits that i want to break such as leaving things plugged in, cleaning with harsh chemicals, using a lot of disposible items that aren’t biodegradable such as plastic, and also i want to invest in reusable grocery bags.

When is was in Biology we watched this movie on waste in America and it was incredible how much just one person uses in a life time and how much we leave behind in land fills. I never could have imagined that i or anyone else consumed so much stuff. For example in the Movie they lined the streets with all the bread one person will eat in a lifetime, it stretched on for miles.

blog 7 slice of life

Walking through Petco, she was drawn to the large fish selection, an excited smile crossed her face.  The girl made sure to look at all of them… the gold fish, the sucker fish, the fish with eyes that looked like they would pop, the fish that looked like minature sharks and of course, her favorite, the little tiny blue and red fish that went darting around the tank like hyperactive children.  They held her curiosity for quite some time until she finally made it to the end of the rows of fish tanks. Just as she was about to start all over again she felt a gentle tug on her hand and was led off elsewhere in the store.

As they walked away she talked about how when she had a place of her own she would have plenty of fish.

bloglog 6 the giver by louis lowery

This pod cast really stood out to me because of how dramatic it was.

I listened to the podcast about the giver by louis lowery.  What worked well was the sound effects it was very dramatic, also the changing in how loud the voices were and the voices matched the characters very well. Also some sound effects were used, for example the snow storm. I personally love the Giver so this podcast for me was very interesting and caught my attention.

I also really liked how the story was explained but not in an obvious, boring way. I recommend giving this podcast a listen, especially if you’ve read the story.
